Eric Fischer and his Geotag Inspired Maps
Art, Geotagging, mapsCommentAwesome maps of cities (and how people exist and travel within them) made purely from extracting/rendering geotags….an example of how thoughtfully rendered data can become art. Learn more about Eric’s work and philosophy in this Atlantic Cities article. You can view many (most?) of Eric’s maps on his Flickr page here (check out the Geotagger’s World Atlas and peruse some of the awesome -often old- scanned maps in his other flickr sets….beware, this could be a very time consuming rabbit hole ).
*I tried to sift through the city maps to see if Austin was rendered….but I couldn’t locate it.
